Craig and Lori Do Ireland
June
12-23, 2008
We
certainly had an amazing time in Ireland, as you’ll see here.
|
(Portlaoise) We knew there had to be a DeLaney’s Pub
somewhere in Ireland. Even in Ireland
the pubs aren’t open at 9:00 am! |
(Cahir Castle) Oh, oh – Craig’s in the dungeon! |
(Cahir Town) And he was very bad in Cahir! |
(Cahir) Lori, who is never bad, is resting near a
river. |
(Cahir) Okay, so there’s no real Irish background
for this picture. But it’s a great
one, isn’t it? |
|
(Dingle) Look what we found! It was a bit off the beaten path, and
Craig fell in love with the place. |
(Dingle) Look what else we found! Think they’re any relation? |
(Dingle Harbor) Watching for Fungie the dolphin. |
(Dingle Harbor) He was here just a minute ago . . . |
(Dingle) Wait – he’s in here! Shall we join Fungie the dolphin for a
pint? |
|
(Dingle) This is on the path from town back to
Emlagh Lodge. You might think that’s
a pickup from the pub in the bag – sorry, it’s just laundry! |
(Dingle Coast) If you’ve already looked at the Irish
Wildlife chapter, the cows and sheep are off to Lori’s right. There’s a close-up of the stone keep behind
her in the Dingle Town chapter, and Fungie lives in the harbor to her left. |
(Cahir) Craig on the battlement of Cahir Castle.
We had the most fun here, climbing around the castle! If you haven’t seen the fireplace picture
in another chapter of this photo journal, you should go find it! |
(The Rock of Cashel) Lori is sitting on the Rock grounds, with
the Golden Vale behind her. |
(Dingle) Talk about multi-tasking – we can have a
pint and go antique shopping! |
|
(Innisfree) It’s really Cong, of course, but that’s
the pub from The Quiet Man that Craig is standing in front of. He sort of has a John Wayne quality about
him, doesn’t he? |
(Innisfree) And now . . . Lori McKenna as Maureen O’Hara as Mary Kate Danaher! The tour guy was having Lori ad lib the
part, and somehow a bit of Sandra Bullock as Miss Congeniality crept in. |
(Ballykine House, Clonbur) After a long day on the Quiet Man set, the
Duck, I mean the Duke, takes a break. |
(Ballykine House, Clonbur) Oh, where’s your sense of humor, Duke? |
(Clonbur) Ahh, that’s much better! And so ends our Celtic Adventure. Thanks for coming along! And won’t we be seein’ ya down at ta pub, where
we can lift a pint to the wonderful Irish people and t’eir beautiful country. |
