Ireland Wildlife

June 12-23, 2008

Bet you were expecting nightlife and dancing and smoky pubs, weren’t you?

These are the critters we met in Ireland  - how could we not include them?

(Dingle Harbor)

It’s Fungie, Dingle’s very own dolphin.

(Dingle Harbor)

And look – he’s brought a friend!

(Dingle Town)

Who’d have thought we’d meet movie stars in Ireland?  Here’s Heckle and Jeckle!

(Cahir)

We were just playing with the camera here.  This gray heron was actually quite a ways away.

(Dingle Peninsula)

I love a donkey that can be bought.

(Dingle Peninsula)

I love a sea gull that can be bought!  It took an ice cream cone to bribe this guy in, though.

(Cashel)

And here is the famous Guardian Herd, who have bravely kept the peace

in the pastures

of the Hore Abbey.

Okay, we’re kidding.

(Dingle Coast)

Wait for meeeeee!

There was a path from our lodging along the harbor, and we passed through a cow and sheep pasture on the walk.

(Dingle)

That’s the harbor behind these guys.

(Dingle Coast)

There seemed to be a lot of this going on.

(Clonbur)

We came across this family on our walk through the woods behind Ballykine.

(Cahir)

This guy was one of three that lived in front of Carrigeen Castle.
